Sustainability
Policy
Beryllium Corporation is committed to
promoting sustainability within its business practices and for our community.
Concern for the environment and wellbeing of the individuals that make up our
company is our top concern. We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability
practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help
our employees, clients and partners to do the same.
Principles Our
Sustainability Policy is based upon the following principles:
To comply with, and exceed where possible,
with all applicable environmental laws and codes of practice.
To integrate sustainability
considerations into all our business decisions.
To ensure that all staff are fully
aware of our Sustainability Policy and are committed to implementing and
improving it.
To minimize the impact on
sustainability of all office and transportation activities.
To make clients and suppliers aware
of our Sustainability Policy and encourage them to adopt sound and
sustainable management practices.
To review, annually report, and to
continually strive to improve our sustainability performance.
Practical
steps: In order
to put these principles into practice we will:
Travel
and meetings Beryllium Corporation promotes work
from home initiatives in every project it gets involved with. It is
important that we approach our clients and present them with the great
benefits of allowing our consultants and system integrators to work from
their homes. If working remotely is not feasible for our client, we
promote carpooling amongst our employees.
For projects overseas, when
possible, we combine remote work with occasional travel by plane. Since
our headquarters are located on an island in the Caribbean, air travel is
the only viable mean of travel to other countries or territories.
Use an emissions recording scheme
for business travel to monitor our impact.
Purchase
of equipment and consumption of resources
Beryllium Corporation, as a technology
solutions provider, we have eliminated the use of paper while reducing the
need for other office consumables, identifying opportunities to reduce
waste.
As far as possible arrange for the
reuse or recycling of office waste, including computer supplies and
redundant equipment.
Reduce the energy consumption of
office equipment by purchasing energy efficient equipment and good
housekeeping.
Ensure that timber furniture, and
any other timber products, are recycled or from well-managed and
sustainable sources.
Purchase products that are sourced
from fair-trade.
